Martin Edwards: Golden Age of Crime @ Essex Book Festival
Mar 10 @ 11:00 am – 12:15 pm

Join Martin Edwards, Ruth Dudley Edwards and David Whittle  as we celebrate the life and work of Edmund Crispin – and there is much to celebrate about him, as master of “splendidly complicated crime”, composer of music for Carry On films, and creator of the charming, frivolous and often badly behaved Gervase Fen, the detective with a donnish difference.

This is part of the Golden Age of Crime strand of the festival, and there is a four-4-three offer on tickets

Back by popular demand, Alibis in the Archive (in association with the Crime Writers’ Association and The Detection Club) returns for a second year to bring some of the UK’s best-loved crime writers to Hawarden.

Over a weekend of talk sessions and murder mystery evenings, the weekend centres around The Crime Writers’ Association Archive which incorporates the archives and documentation of The Detection Club, the oldest and most august society of crime writers in the world, and for which Gladstone’s Library is the proud home.

Martin Edwards will talk about Collecting Crime Fiction and the British Crime Writing Archives. And although she won’t be there, a murder mystery event written by her will take place on the Friday evening.
